James McQueen, Jr. (JJ)

Vulnerability, Failure, Life Plans and Community

In this episode, I’m chatting with my long-time friend and brother, James McQueen, Jr. (also known as JJ). We’re chatting about vulnerability, failure, life plans and community. JJ is a father, husband, photojournalist, member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and former college athlete.

A warning to listeners. At around the 25-minute mark, there’s brief mention and discussion of suicide. If you’re having suicidal thoughts, please dial the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.

Post Show Correction

In this episode I misstated that the percentage of students who successfully transition from pre-med is less than 30%. The correct statistic is less than 40% according to the American Association of Medical Colleges.
